Hey, it’s Coach Caitlin, your personal trainer and nutrition coach helping you fall in love with the way you move and feel, one habit at a time.
How did I get here? In my mid-twenties, I was working 70+ hours a week between a full-time job and a part-time freelance role, in NYC. One morning I woke up and my right leg felt pins and needles; I ignored it and then my left leg started to feel the same. I continued to ignore it until it spread up my back and I couldn’t lift my arms past my chest. My doctor immediately made a same-day appointment with a neurologist for me — and I spent the next 6+ weeks going in for testing, fully expecting him to prescribe surgery, shots or pills. Instead, he looked me in the eyes and told me he eliminated everything but stress. Instead of surgery, I needed to reduce my workload, meditate, sleep, exercise and de-stress.
What kind of quack was this guy? I set out to prove him wrong: I signed for up group fitness classes at a local studio, I stopped freelancing and I started meditating. Instead of surgery, shots or pills, I ended up falling in love with how good it felt to move, to get off the non-stop work train, and how much better mentally and physically I felt on a daily basis. Of course, you can guess the outcome: the symptoms disappeared as I raised my health and wellbeing from the bottom of my priorities to the top.
The owner of Circuit of Change, Brian Delmonico, soon set me on the path to becoming the trainer I am today. He saw my desire to help others like he helped me. I am forever grateful to him for seeing the potential and setting me on this path.
Why am I here? To pay it forward with the knowledge, motivation and support to turn your goals into reality. I do my best work with people who are new to strength training or are returning after a long hiatus. They *know* it’s high-time to re-align their fitness and health at the top of their list. They can’t wait to make the changes and feel and see the results…but they’re not sure how to start *or* how to stick with it.
